Lactase

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has authorised the following health claims for this ingredient:

Lactase improves lactose digestion in people who have problems digesting lactose

This applies from a minimum content of 4,500 FCC units (Food Chemicals Codex).

Note:
– Lactase should be taken with every meal containing lactose.
– As there are differences in lactose tolerance, those affected should seek advice on the function of the substance in relation to their diet.
